KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Cup defending champion, Kelantan defeated
Terengganu 3-1 in a Group C match of the Malaysia Cup at Stadium Sultan
Ismail Nasiruddin Shah, Kuala Terengganu tonight.
The error
committed by Terengganu skipper Hasmizan Kamarodin punished the turtle
squad when he scored an own goal in the 27th minute.
Indra Putra Mahayuddin later made it 2-0 for Kelantan in the 53rd minute.
However,
the turtle squad reduced the deficit when Mohd Ashaari Shamsuddin
scored in the 75th minute but the Terengganu joy was short-lived when
Mohd Badhri Radzi confirmed victory for the ‘Red Warriors’ in the 85th
minute.
Pahang, playing in another group C match, collected the
full three points when they beat Negeri Sembilan 3-0 at Stadium Darul
Makmur, Kuantan.
The three goals for Pahang came from MatÃas Ruben Conti in the 50th minute, R.Gopinathan (70th) and Azidan Sarudin (83rd).
In a Group A match, the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) drew 1-1 with Selangor at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium.
ATM
started strongly when import Marlon Alex James found the opponent’s
goal in the 37th minute but Mohd Fitri Shazwan Raduwan equalised for
Selangor in the 74th.
Johor were also held to a 2-2 draw with Sime Darby at the Pasir Gudang Municipal Council Stadium, Johor.
Johor
Darul Takzim (Johor DT), playing in Group B, had a comfortable 5-2 win
over Felda United at the Temerloh Mini Stadium, Pahang.
At the Shah Stadium, Selangor PKNS went on a goal-scoring spree with a 5-0 win over T-Team.
In
a Group B match, Kedah recorded their first win when they beat Perak
1-0 at Stadium Perak, Ipoh. The Kedah solitary goal came from Nelson San
Martin in.
